Well, hello friends! Thanks for stopping by.
With the weather finally breaking, I found myself in a bit of a bright, springy mood and to my luck on the Simon Says Stamp blog the Monday challenge is ‘Flower Power‘. So here is what I came up with to enter in the challenge …
This is the one that both my husband and daughter picked out of the four that I made. They liked the addition of the small buds. I ended up liking the other yellow bordered one myself but entered in their pick. Here are a few of my process steps ….
I started by gluing down some vintage book torn strips and a hand cut circle onto Bristol paper.
I then added a little Daniel Smith watercolors to soften up the white of the cardstock.
I then randomly brushed Anita’s Fluorescent paint in yellow and pink, which also mixed to give the gorgeous orange. If you haven’t tried these, they are one of my favs in fluorescent paint. I then did some mark making with titanium white.
Next I stamped Dina Wakely Abstract Blooms with Archival Black. Finally (not pictured) I did some detail work which included adding DW Sky paint, splatters, shading, pen work boarder and stamped the word bloom. For the colored mats, I painted white cardstock and edged with black archival ink.
This is the one I liked better but I do agree with them that this one isn’t quite as interesting.
It is always amazing to me that even when the same products and process is identical, the are all so different. Gotta love arting!
Have a blessed day!
