Fairy House~ A bit woodland and gnome style but all handmade.

Hello …. I had a vision on Friday 3.10.17 of a natural woodland fairy house built out of a few boxes and other cardboard items around my craft room.

Steps taken to get to this point ~ Glued all components together (the front wood piece is actually a yard display i had in my garden for a few years but it had fallen apart). Used Tim Holtz linen stencil, texture paste for ‘brick’ and distress picket fence paint. Barked the roof and glued birch bark roll from Joann’s.

Added gravel and vines from my yard. Started adding color ~ Tim Holtz Distress inks/paints/stains in Peeled Paint, Twisted Citron, Forest Moss and eventually Vintage Photo, Walnut Stain, Hickory Smoke and Iced Spruce. Also laid out pathway on upper patio.

Finished front~ I believe that fairies use what they find left behind from humans. Example would be the medicine cups are perfect for planters, along with thimbles.

Most of the foliage is still dormant 🙂

No home would be complete without a window box.

I originally built this cottage as a prop for items for sale on Etsy but am considering making more items/homes so be sure to check out my ETSY store ~ “That Was What” (as of today, I have not reopened the store, I will be soon).
